[Space PvP] Sundays 8pm GMT [Weekly]
Greetings pilots of Chimaera, of experience and fledgelings alike; this is a thread aimed at you, and what you can do to help your faction win the Civil War.
As the last thread was growing full of spam and had been tainted with Drama, I thought it best to create a new one rather than have 006 trawl all the way through 50 pages picking out which posts to remove and which to keep.
I might like to point out that Space PvP is fast paced, furious and of course, great fun. It is twitch based, so it is not a battle of buffs, and contrary to popular belief; fleet scale Space PvP does not mean you have to be loaded out with uber parts to have fun or to make a difference. Many use mediocre loadouts and are more than successful, the key is working together and knowing your ships place, and ultimately, how to fly it.
These are the rules:
- 8pm Start
- Round 1 - 8-9pm. This round is turn based, once you are dead; Return to your factional station and wait for the rest of your faction to regroup. Whoever is left at 0 0 0 claims the round. This is usually 3 turns which take place during the hour.
- Round 2 - 9-10pm. This is FREE RETURN round, split up by markers of 20 mins in general. Sometimes it's 15, but it's an agreed amount before the fighting begins to avoid confusion during the battle. When you die, head back to the 0's and continue fighting. Whoever is in control of the 0's at the 20 minute markers (9.20, 9.40, 10.00) claims the point. This round is very fast and furious, and is often the pinnacle of the evening for many pilots. It shows determination and strategic thinking from both sides. Truly the most elating part of the event.
- No IR2 missiles in interceptor class ships please. Proton III's are acceptable with the longer lock. Heavies are not affected by the missile restrictions.
- No JSF (ETA-2 Actis)
- Meet up at Ord Mantell cantina for Jawa beers and Corellian Ice cream after the event. This gives us a chance to reflect and chat to the opposing pilots, to keep the air clear and to remind us all that this is indeed a fun event, and we are after all the battling, friends.

If you have never particpated in Space PvP before, don't hesitate to ask. There are many pilots who are more than willing to help you get sorted out with your ship. Advice is free, don't be afraid to ask for it.
The chatroom where the PvP pilots hang out is Chat>SpacePvPChat, come and join us, we're a nice bunch
If there is a specific faction you are looking at joining, then there are also Navies available for that faction. The Navy can help you work your ship up, get the parts you need, train you how to fly in certain styles and keep communication flowing. All of these will lead to being a part of a squadron, where your piloting skills will indeed be pushed to their limits.
